Second time I've come across this problem, this time, today--

https://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?p=5952547#post5952547

After posting, this post could not be accessed. It did show on the main board and the Cartoon board as the last post. But when you looked for it, it wasn't there.

After I added another post, a new page was added--then the post appeared, above the newly-added post.

For some reason if a new page is to be created, the code evidently is occasionally not creating it--but it's floating around unseen, someplace--until another post is added after that, then both appear on the new page.

I experienced similar a few weeks ago in one if the Andy Griffith threads. After about 40 minutes I added a new post to the same thread, and both posts appeared at the same time

I don't know what robyrob was trying to say. It looks like he forgot to edit his post.

I have no idea why it keeps happening. I've never seen it happen with any of my own posts. Maybe it's more likely to happen at the start of a new page with the 16, 31, etc. post? The posts are definitely making it into the database because I get them sent to my e-mail. I guess they are going into the twilight zone. If your post doesn't immediately display, then try making another post. The original post is most likely going to be there.

If this was happening more frequently, it would be easier to diagnose. There's no rhyme or reason when it's happening at random times of the day. We are using very old versions of PHP and MYSQL, so maybe they have some occasional bugs. The server could be uploaded when the last posts are being updated. The cache might not be updating automatically at certain times of the day. I had already changed the cached posts lifespan to 0 days when this issue was previously mentioned. I thought that had mostly fixed the problem.

I tried searching some support forums for anyone having a similar problem with posts not updating. We don't have any plugins installed that would be causing it.
