There's a Youtube clip of this snippet of Liz's statement on Dick Sargent taking over as Darrin that yet again has been edited. It suspiciously leaves out Liz's comment that it was a "shame" that it had to happen - meaning York had to leave.

The full clip is here:

I'm sure you noticed all these edited anti-York videos posted on YouTube of late (many stolen from HarpiesBizarre.com) are all posted by the same person ("Dan Whit.") I don't know what their agenda is.

What's making me sick is that people in the comments are jumping to the conclusion that Dick York was some sort of creeper, when there's zero evidence he did anything more past the audition than look at Montgomery. The Froug video has over a quarter million views in six months (!) and the internet being the way it is, that's how York is going to be remembered. All the stuff about helping the homeless? Moot.

As you pointed out, they're the same kinds of insinuations about her husband that hurt Joan York's feelings all those years ago. She knew York had a crush on Montgomery; she was there when he narrated his autobiography, and authorized its posthumous release. She also knew her husband stayed married to her for over 40 years, through thick and thin.

Yes I remember all that garbage years ago when Joey was alive. At that time I also leaped to Dick's defense as I do here. I know for sure that Joey was grateful for all who did that back then.

I am not sure what joy this person gets out of trying to ruin the reputation of someone who was a loyal husband and a great actor (in everything not just Bewitched). But I think it's rooted in an unnatural and overwhelming obsession with Elizabeth Montgomery. I believe it comes from just one person pretending to be several. Thankfully Joey isn't here to see all this trash.

I think so too (one person pretending to be several, and/or a few others). I'm a DY fan but I don't think he was perfect. I'm an EM fan but I don't think she was perfect. Everyone is human. I don't know why some people "need" their idols to be absolutely flawless. Because no one is.
