When will Me tv Schedule come out?

Probably sometime this month. I'm wondering what they'll have on it, too, but I'm doubtful we'll see any major changes in the fall on MeTV.

I hope that they don't tinker with Mash or Hogan Heroes. That would be downright criminal and I might have to switch the channel.

I know I'm not who you directed this at, but I think they'll change it, just very minor changes. I don't think really anything will change on the weekdays, but I wouldn't be surprised if 6-7AM they add another Saturday Morning Cartoons block and maybe another Hanna Barbera show.

My guess is they'll add a new show or two and then shuffle a few shows around to different timeslots and possibly remove a show that is performing poorly. Mash, Hogan's Heroes, and The Andy Griffith Show are certainly not going anywhere unfortunately.

Now that Disney owns MASH, wouldn't be surprised if they are trying to top channels like METV off to show it. Could be a possible reason why they quit showing it on Sunday.

So as not to disappoint the millions of "Hogan" fans who might miss an episode of its unprecedented 50th MeTV cycle, one Andy will be shown at 10, and Hogan will air at its normal 10:30 time. The title of the special will be "Classic Andy in Color!"

MeTV has selected the best of the best! In the first episode, the Taylors are flustered when Dolly, a previously-unseen horse that hauled a milk-delivery carriage, won't eat. I wonder if Me TV will be adding The Wonder Years WeekNights at 6pm. With the New Wonder Years airring on ABC Wednesday’s at 8:30pm. Starting September 22, I would think Me TV would capitalize on that.

Sunday’s bring back Sunday Me TV Showcase 5pm.

We haven't had a significant schedule change since Summer/Fall 2017. So don't expect much. I could see the usual weekday 5 - 6pm hours getting new shows and Sunday nights. Historically it seems like only these timeslots get new shows anyway. Addams Family gets taken off and we get back The Flintstones at 6. Maybe replace Adam-12 with a new action drama show, The Rockford Files plz.

As for Sunday nights, I'm hoping Monk does poor enough so they either axe the show entirely from the channel or at least move Columbo back to 8pm and shift Monk to 7pm only. The show is just too new for the channel.

Other realistic changes I would like is taking off Alfred Hitchock Presents, give us another action drama show for late nights as a lead-in to Mannix-Cannon-Barnaby Jones block.

I didn't know about this. Maybe Disney recalls the broadcasting rights for MASH and MeTV will finally need to air a different show on the channel :lol:

MeTV 2 channel is already out. It's called MeTV Plus and so far its only available in the Chicago area.

I agree, it's a possibility MeTV could lose the MASH contract. Too bad LOL! But seriously, if it's big money to Disney, probably not.

MeTV has had problems 5-7 (afternoon/evening). I really doubt the Flintstones comes back (at 6), considering they sequentially dumped it. I agree The Addams Family goes, and I also agree with previous threads that it was just temporary and probably a cheap place holder. I'd like to see Mama's Family 2X, but they've already tried that at 6.

I think they make minor changes in the morning, since it seems animation in the morning is a hit for them:

5:30 The Flintstones (replaces Dragnet)
6:00 The Flintstones (replaces Dragnet)
6:30 Toon In With Me (expanded to 90 minutes, with additional cartoons) (6:30 - 7 replaces My Three Sons)

am not much a fan of monk or golden girls svengoolie should've been gone long time ago, wish high way patrol be in prime time, am suffering from western burn out. I'd like to see the original Japan series 1966 Ultraman back on, US version tired of paid programs, what's offered isn't worth it, put green acres gomer Pyle instead, British series U.F.O. and Space: 1999 be great again. be finding something else if programming isn't going woke. guess Adam 12 dragnet back to cozy TV. Also Andy Griffith show has been rerun to death, prefer Stingray Supercar on metv instead of plus here's hoping.

True! It usually comes out Labor Day. I understand about dont fix if it is broken BUT there is so many Classic TV shows that aren’t being shown for the ones that have been shown for a while in the same time slots. In addition it would be nice to Leave It To Beaver go from 8AM to 10pm ATLEAST it’s a different choice.

According to Me TV, those shows Mary Tyler Moore Show & Bob Newhart Show gets many requests to be shown but the ratings do not justify its airings as opposed to MASH & Hogans Heroes & Gomer Pyle USMC & Green Acres were the ratings are a huge success.

Although sister network Decades that does air Mary Tyler Moore Show & Bob Newhart Show that does air on Decades it does pretty well in the ratings.


Me TV will show Mary Tyler Moore Show & Bob Newhart Show during its special Holiday stunt A Very Merry Me TV some years.

Perhaps they could air them on the weekend.

I'm betting very little with MeTV is changing this fall. By now we'd be seeing promos for new programs and there's nothing. Maybe The Addams Family is even staying (which is really a surprise).

The Addams Family surprises me. I'd have bet that would go--it seems so much like a placeholder for something new, with there only being two seasons.

Yep. But the key is how it's doing. If it's doing better than the Flintstones did, I'll bet they'd be hesitant to take it off. Especially considering all the changes they've made between 5 and 7 pm in the past few years.

It will be interesting to see if there are any changes when the fall schedule comes out.

Afraid most of their moves and schedule changes will now be geared more towards modern programming.

Let's hope not. I remember everybody thought the same thing when they put that collectors show on Sunday night.

I don't think we'll see any changes,I think we would've heard of them by now.Every other channel has already announced theirs.

I know primetime is a touchy subject, but there are a lot of little things they could do by just shifting shows around to help improve the lineup without having to acquire a lot of new shows.

I just realized that...it's what came up when I searched the new schedule...

I still wonder how much better one show can do than another, given that MeTV's ratings were pretty low at last check. Guess all we can go by is MeTV keeping a program on consistently, as I haven't seen any ratings numbers in recent times.

In any event, these days, Mama's Family is the only show I watch regularly, and that's just once a week. And usually Collector's Call and The Honeymooners when they aired 10-10:30 p.m. Sundays.

The ME TV Fall Winter Schedule Oct-Feb will be announced in a week or two. With some minor temporary programming(to be announced at a later date) for the Holiday period mid Nov to Jan 1st.

After they lost Leave it to Beaver to Antenna TV a few years ago, they are probably making longer contracts.

Not that I want it to go, but I still think The Addams Family isn't a long-term commitment.

Andy Griffith started fall 2014 but MASH has been there since the very beginning in December 2010.

Since they only air TAGS seasons 1-5, they cycle through all episodes in about 3 months. Each TAGS episode has probably aired at least 30 times since they started in 2014. They could move MASH and TAGS to a different time slot.

That’s so dumb what they do with Andy Griffith. They have the rights to the entire series so they need to show it in its entirety from start to finish. Yes I agree the black and white episodes with Barney are the best ones but the color ones from 6-8 are still part of the series as well and really aren’t as bad as some people make them out to be and should be shown with the rest of the series.

If they had only one episode of Andy Griffith and MASH per day instead of a double run it would help open some slots (and help from cycling too much).

Andy could be paired with Gomer Pyle. MASH could be paired with Hogan (in the later slot). Green Acres could be paired with Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat, or Addams Family. And then you would have a prime hour to fill with something freshly recycled.

With TAGS MeTV could just slip a color episode in here and there--pick a night or two. I can just see them sitting in their board room worrying about ratings.

Yes, they have the rights to all the episodes. And they probably paid quite a bit, too.

I really think the color TAGS episodes damaged the shows legacy. It was so bad, the 80's reunion movie felt like a much needed apology. Even during the last month of Mayberry event, METV would only show a few select color episodes. A couple of years back, METV gave the color episodes the 7:00am time slot to no success. Personally speaking, if I see a color episode of Andy Griffith on, I usually turn the channel.

Like others, I wish they would just show 1 episode and pair it up with Homer Pyle. They need to add a new sitcom or two to the primetime schedule. Minus dumb butt Westerns, just wish I knew what classic shows people would watch.

I mean the general audience has stuck their nose up at The Odd Couple, The Mary Tyler Moore, The Bob Newhart Show, I Love Lucy, WKRP and etc.

One of the reasons why I like watching MeTV, was the different shows that use to rotate on the channel. I know its all ratings metrics now but retro television appeal comes from the schedule changes. This whole ratings business is a joke. It makes no sense to use this method when it’s reruns of the same shows over and over again. It makes sense for new current shows that only air one episode a week and it’s a new episode for the most part except during Christmas, spring, and summer breaks. For example, Young Sheldon at 8 on CBS does well there so it stays and it’s not constantly repeating the same episodes all the time. But MeTV has become so stale just running the same programming year after year after year. I don’t see how people don’t get tired of it. Is the target audience people who don’t remember what episodes they’ve already seen?

Exactly. One year it might be Kojak, Ironside, and Cannon, and then the next it might be Hawaii Five-O, Happy Days, and Laverne & Shirley. That’s what made it unique. Now I don’t even see the point at schedule changes if it’s just to pick at very few slots throughout the schedule. I was hoping they’d add Night Court, but knowing them, it would probably air during the overnight hours for only one episode.

Unfortunately I think they're afraid to rock the ratings boat. So they are totally locked in.

Geez how long has Gunsmoke been on there? If it were to go away tune to TV Land. It's been on there for like a quarter century.

I remember in the old MeTV schedule pdfs, they would state if Mayberry RFD would be an substitute for certain regions in the country. But looking at the current schedules now, they don't have that. So to answer your question, No.

When MANY of us viewers complained on the MeTV Facebook page when they dropped Last Laughs, we were told they dropped those shows due to rights issues, not ratings. But they moved Cheers and Bob Newhart and MTM and Taxi to Decades, where they have been ever since they dropped them from MeTV. Are they doing well there? Is it OK to keep them on there if they’re not doing well on Decades? Is it because Decades does not have a wider market penetration that it’s OK? Like I said, I’d trade all the Weigel stations I get now for Decades. I love their lineup. It seems like only the stations that have less market penetration (and that we can’t get in our area) can air the shows I like.

Plus, they brought The Honeymooners back on MeTV Sunday nights, ostensibly to pair with The Flintstones, but they dropped the late Sunday night airing of The Flintstones but kept The Honeymooners on—probably my least favorite from the old Last Laughs block, because I find it more sad than funny. I liked the seventies and eighties shows in the Last Laughs block—it was nice to have something funny on Sunday nights. I hate all the dreary mysteries that are on Sunday nights now. At least The Andy Griffith Show is back on Sunday nights, but I think that’s just temporary until they find another dreary mystery to put on.

Comet told me they would probably not be bringing Men into Space back. I think now that they have a wider market penetration, they ditched the old rare shows. getTV did the same.

For years I could not watch Batman or Star Trek on MeTV on Saturday nights because they were preempted on our local affiliate for local news and talk—programs they were already airing on the primary channel at the same time they were airing them on the MeTV secondary channel. As soon as MeTV got added to DISH, I got DISH because I was sick of all the local affiliate preemptions. Right away, MeTV dropped Batman, and the local affiliate suddenly stopped all the preemptions.

It would be several more years before H&I got added to DISH and I could finally see Batman, although I would’ve enjoyed watching Batman more in the evenngs when it was on MeTV if it hadn’t been preempted here. Mornings on H&I are much harder for me. Now H&I has reduced Batman to just Sundays. I wouldn’t be surprised it if gets dropped altogether soon.

Decades has the lineup I would love to watch. They show Ed Sullivan episodes that so far MeTV has not shown, and I fear never will show. Plus there are two shots a day to watch Sullivan on Decades. Watching Cheers from 11 p.m. to midnight would be fantastic for me. Bob Newhart in the afternoon.... And I’d record Dark Shadows at 5 a.m.

But, following my theory that these channels change their lineup substantially when they get a wider audience, often showing only the more popular shows that have already been shown a lot elsewhere (look at H&I adding Walker), I fear if we ever get Decades on a local channel here or on DISH, the lineup will be different—Ed Sullivan will be gone for sure.

I’m not sure if it’s because:

(1) The channels change their lineup to appeal to the new wider audience
(2) The channels change their lineup because the wider audience begins demanding “Why don’t you show X and Y and Z?”
(3) With the wider market penetration, the channels have to drop some shows because of rights or local conflict issues
(4) With a wider market bringing in more ad revenue, the channel can afford to add more popular shows

We temporarily lost Antenna TV when our local affiliate switched to Court TV. I called the station to see if another station would be adding Antenna TV. The lady I talked to said she didn’t know whch one but felt sure one of them would. I told her, “The last thing we need is more courtroom shows on TV.” :D

Ironically, the local digital subchannel that dropped Abtenna TV several years ago (which another station did pick up) has now dropped Court TV for Antenna TV’s new sister station, Rewind TV. Not sure how we got that right at launch with my “curse” operating. :D Of course, Rewind TV isn’t really showing anything that I haven’t seen in recent years on Antenna TV or elsewhere. Decades is the one showing a few rareties.
