At least prior to the 2000 feature film? Charlie's Angels (https://www.grunge.com/129872/the-strange-history-of-charlies-angels/) even immediately following its cancelation in 1981, was still a relatively hot commodity. Fox during its early years, tried to get a reboot off the ground initially titled Angels '88 (https://fycharliesangels.tumblr.com/post/24059003876/in-1988-angels-88-was-a-proposed-reinvention-of).

There were going to be four Angels instead of three. The most notable actress to be attached to that project was Tea Leoni (https://fycharliesangels.tumblr.com/post/112381825305/angels-88-cast-update-tea-leoni-continues). The series never got off the ground in no small part due to the 1988 writers strike (https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:llxpefY8TvgJ:https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1988-05-20-ca-3944-story.html+&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us).

I wonder if there was never a formal scripted reunion because it would've been difficult getting either Kate Jackson or Farrah Fawcett onboard. And in order to get people interested, it would be logical to want at least one other original Angel involved. I'm highly confident that Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd would've been more willing to do a reunion if approached.

Good question.

They should've done a reunion movie.

In 1986 (https://fycharliesangels.tumblr.com/post/178855650145/when-angels-were-the-rage-people-1986), producer Leonard Goldberg was quoted as saying "I'd pay each of them a million dollars to do a two-hour Charlie's Angels reunion movie. But it would be very difficult to get any three of the four originals to do it."

They didn't want an extra MILLION dollars for just ONE movie??

I recently have also been wondering about a Charlie's Angels reunion movie featuring all six of the titular Angels. Which hurdles would've had to be cleared in order to make such a project possible in the late '80s/early '90s? I think the biggest hurdle would be getting Farrah Fawcett on board depending on how much she wanted to be paid for a reunion.
