In the thread that I started that is right below this one, I wrote about the second-season episode "Julie Smokes". Throughout the seventies and eighties, the were dozens of shows that had episodes with an anti-smoking lesson involved. There were even a good number of cartoons that preached this gospel. Well, about eleven years before this "Gimme a Break!" episode was a "Brady Bunch" episode called "Where There's Smoke". It had a different flavor to it than this "Gimme a Break!" episode, but it got the same point across. The coincidence is that this particular episode was on METV this very afternoon!

Unless "Julie Smokes" was also on today, I don't get how this is supposed to be a coincidence.

"Julie Smokes" is one of many episodes of TV shows that deals with the issue of the evils of smoking. There were similar episodes on shows such as All in the Family, Happy Days and Friends. On the "Brady Bunch", there was the second-season episode called "Where There's Smoke". The coincidence was that it was on the day after I wrote about the "Gimme a Break!" episode "Julie Smokes".
