I'm not 100 percent sure , but I think his name was actually just " Dog" ! I kinda remember reading that somewhere ! ;)

Yes, his name was just Dog on the show.

He was also Benji in the movies. Next to Lassie he was pretty famous.

Really cute dog. I always thought Edgar Buchanan loved "Dog". They seemed to have a special bond on screen.
