A few days ago, they re-ran the one in which this circus clown named Curly had two daughters and a son which his wife put in a children's home when he went off to WWII. At the end of the war, she dumped her husband, came for the girls but left their son at the home and tried to convince her younger daughter that Arthur was a figment of her imagination. Peggy found out and after her mom grudgingly gave her Curly's birthplace, she wrote and was reunited with him. Father and daughter became close friends and Peggy helped care for him during his last years.
Curly told her that he had raised Arthur for a few years while performing in the circus but when Arthur was six gave him up to a Catholic orphanage because his friends convinced Curly that Arthur needed a stable homelife. Curly had only gotten two letters from Arthur and had regretted giving him up for adoption and begged Peggy to find Arthur to apologize on his behalf after he died.
I didn't understand why Peggy's mom pretended her own son had never existed and had never regretted leaving him . .and Peggy seemed to turn out to be a far better parent than either of hers did.
I didn't see an update but I hope Arthur's still alive and decides to seek her out. Maybe he's too bitter about the fact that both his parents abandoned him to want anything to do with his bio family to want to contact her.:(

That was a different Curly, Walter "Curly" Green. He had mysteriously arrived by train in Skyler, Nebraska at age 17 where he fell in love with his employer's daughter Jessamyn(sp?). She fell in love with someone else when Curly went off to war. He never fell in love again and died alone of a heart attack in Omaha on April 24, 1978. As far as investigators know he left no heirs to his fortune of $200,000. I don't think this case was ever solved either. I guess guys nicknamed Curly should think twice before going off to war...

Curly's son Arthur was one of the most intriguing segments for me. I, too, often wonder about it.

I saw the case the other night and apparently Arthur still has not been found. I'm wondering if Arthur is still alive at all. If he is I might believe the bitter idea. Maybe he saw himself on UM and became angry about his life compared to his sisters.

Maybe he was adopted into a loving family who changed his name and over time he became adapted to his new family and forgot everything about his previous life.
