This photo was taken by Voyager 1 on February 14, 1990, from a distance of 3.7 billion miles away. It was, and still is, the furthest-away picture taken of our planet, and it inspired the late astronomer Carl Sagan to write a beautiful speech called Pale Blue Dot.
Pale Blue Dot, captured beautifully in this video, is truth, and I think everyone should watch and rewatch it every once in a while for perspective.
