I know that most of us had to stay home last year due to the pandemic. However, since things are starting to open up; who is planning a much needed vacation?

I'm starting to look at beach rentals in lovely Nags Head, NC. I'm hoping to have my toes in the sand within a month.

Not really a vacation, but I’m heading to Long Island soon for a friend’s wedding. First time going away from my home since COVID. Staying at Marriott Suites for 2 nights so it should be nice.

I'd love to but am short of money due to job loss. However I am starting to get interviews and recently had a job interview for a job I want so hopefully I will get it. Anyway, not to get off track, I was talking to a friend and we're talking about next year with her husband and my potential boyfriend going to Myrtle Beach. I went in 2018 for a counseling conference and it's beautiful. I went in October when everything was closed for the year (October-November is conference time there) so I want to go back and see the rest of it. I am going on a weekend to see my potential boyfriend though and see where that is heading though and I can't wait!

This Saturday the wife and I are going on a 9-day road trip/camping down the Oregon coast for our Anniversary.

Still no big trips planned this summer, but we'll be doing lots of weekend jaunts.

I just got back from a long weekend trip to Colorado. We flew into Denver but mostly stayed in and around Colorado Springs.

We also went to Maine for Memorial Day weekend and will be doing the same for Labor Day weekend.

We had a Europe trip planned for last Fall, which obviously didn't happen. If all goes well, we'll be going on that this year as well (since it was already fully paid).

It truly is! I'm still not sure how I did it, but my fiance and I hiked to the top of the Manitou Incline. Before doing it I had no idea the hike is rated "advanced" and "extreme." Neither of those words describe my hiking skills, lol.

Colorado was my vacation place with my parents as a kid. So beautiful. We used to stay in a town midway called Monument and became friends with a family who owned a campground. Our ast time going we found they sold the campground. I remember going to a Sana Claus amusement park in Pikes Peak that was so cool!

It truly was! It's 2,768 steps going up a 2000 foot elevation. To say it was hard to breathe is an understatement but the sense of accomplishment I felt afterward made it totally worth it.

That's awesome! It was my third time visiting the state. It's such a beautiful place to visit. Have you been to the Colorado National Monument?

I must have, I know we went to Grand Junction. We went all over Colorado including Royal Gorge, Buckskin Joe's (a now-defunct western amusement park where they filmed western TV/Movies, Cripple Creek and so much more. I love Colorado, my parents at one time wanted to move there.

I absolutely love Santa Barbara, one of my favorite parts of California. Stunning place.:)

I would love (and I have been planning on this for years:crazy:) is taking a day trip up to Los Angeles and seeing some iconic landmarks, etc.

Some pictures from our recent trip to New England.

A view from the highest mountain in Massachusetts.

A shot from one of our hotel room balconies on a lake.

A picture from a butterfly conservatory where you are in a room with thousands of butterflies all around you. About ten landed on my shoulders.

We did. Thanks.

Satellite radio came in decently. We didn't try to listen to AM or FM because we didn't know any local stations. Cell phone reception was generally horrible. Fortunately we had no emergencies but I'm assuming my Lexus' version of OnStar emergency service would have worked because my navigation system worked everywhere.

I reckon up that high you would get AM stations from 100s of miles away during the day :)

Interesting indeed.......

As a young person, 18 on, my friends and I could not wait to get to the NJ shore beaches, or FL beaches, those PA winters were long

Living in So Cal has been many decades of a working vacation, and retired even more so, but I've travelled the State so much, I'm done.

Before I got here a girl in school talked about her cousin in Pomona CA and I was so jealous, kinda, and never dreamed I've be living here.

Living in San Jose for 5 yrs and got to see a lot of No Cal and all the beauty. So much of this state.

My best vacations were beaches, Mexico, Aruba and reluctantly did London (no beach) and glad I did, a good different vacation.

Went to AZ last weekend. Not a long trip, the supposed 5-star hotel was more of a three, and it was oddly humid, but it was nice to get away for a couple days.
