As per title, how would you ranke The Conners characters?
After the first three seasons, and of the 'main' characters:
01) Becky (the greatest surprise I've had in years of sitcoms. Lecy really grew as an actress from Roseanne S10. She steals every scene she's in and is now the heart of the show, as Darlene once was in the 90s. Now Becky is one of my very favorite characters ever.)
02) Dan (a guarantee, both the character and the actor)
03) Ben (wonderful addition,perfectly matches the cast)
04) Louise (another great addition to the cast, every sitcom role Katey had became pure gold)
05) Jackie (so happy she was 'goofed down' in season 3. Laurie is taking back her role and the wonderful character that the Conners auntie was in the beginning of Roseanne. Her comedic timing is perfect, as acting talent on another level with John Goodman and Katey Sagal.)
06) Mark (the problem with Mark is that he's flawless, but at least of the three kids he's got the best treatment from the authors)
07) Darlene (lost a lot in season 3, therefore the low ranking. It is really a pity because the character was huge. Gilbert was a talented child/teen actress, and she shows glimpses of that especially in the saddest moments.)
08) Mary (she's adorable, but we barely see her, it's a pity. A child that is growing up in that environment, who barely see her father and never her mother... and only got one episode.)
09) DJ (sometimes I forgot Becky and Darlene have a brother. The authors too.)
10) Harris (I was excited to see her casting photo from Roseanne S10. She totally looked like Darlene. Unfortunately her character was a disappointment.)
11) Geena (not the worst, she's just impossbile to rank for the limited screentime she got. Might as well rank Jerry for fishing in Alaska).
Becky and Darlene were the heart of the show in the 90s, and still are nowadays.
If you grew up with the show like me, this is a bonus thing because it means they are still talking directly to you.
The bad thing is that the kids are overlooked. Harris, Mark and Mary have huge potential, but unfortunately the authors seems to be uncapable to talk about them.
