"I was so underwhelmed by the whole experience," she said on The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sarah-paulson-ratched/id1039032256?i=1000526338001), "because I felt like I had entered into a new place inside of myself in terms of what I thought possible, in terms of what I might be willing to see if I can do. I felt really kind of trapped by my responsibility and my contractual obligation to do American Horror Story. As much as it's my home, and I've loved it always, it was the first time I felt like I wish I could have gone to Ryan (Murphy) and said, 'Please let me sit this one out.'"

Roanoke is the third best season after Murder House and Asylum. She should be appreciative of it. A lot of fans enjoyed her work on it. I like how scary the story was and concise. Apocalypse is my least favorite season. I was really looking forward to this story because of the returning cast from Murder House but it kept jumping around so much that it was confusing to keep up with. It would have been so much better had they started the story from the beginning instead of at the end and doing all these time jumps to the middle and then the beginning and back to the ending only to return to the beginning. I don't care for stories like that. The most simplest stories are the best ones IMO.
