I prefer mostly shows from the 20th century.

My own list is quite a bit shorter:

Bernie Mac Show
My Name Is Earl
Reno 911!
The Office
Big Bang Theory
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Two and a Half Men
Modern Family

A lot of people diss Two and a Half Men, but I really like the early seasons. These were before they really took it into the gutter.

I’m only including shows that BEGAN no earlier than the year 2000. So even though I love That ‘70s Show and it’s considered a 2000s show, it began in 1998 and thus is disqualified.

These are my 21 FAVORITE comedies from 2000 on. I can’t honestly state that each of these is considered the “best” of the past two decades. ’til Death is infamously hated by most, after all, but I love it. Also, American shows only.

Generally this century's sitcoms don't compare to the classics from the 1900s. The top two though on my list are still top notch.

1. Corner Gas
2. The Middle
3. Gilmore Girls- While mainly a drama, this show has a lot of comedy in it.
4. DAG- best one season sitcom of all time. Unfortunately my memory of it is starting to fade with not having seen DAG since its original NBC run. :(
5. The Kids Are Alright- Shame on you ABC. This gem deserved nurturing like The Middle got.
6. Hope and Faith- I always hated hearing about the three full seasons syndicated guarantee for a fourth. Hope and Faith was the last sitcom that didn't apply to.
7. Young Sheldon- TV's best current sitcom. It would be a lot better if Jim Parsons left out his digs at Christianity.
8. Reba
9. The Neighborhood- TV's best current sitcom that isn't retro set
10. Everybody Loves Raymond- one of the best supporting casts ever. But Ray Romano the whiny crybaby lead brings this show down. I dislike him as much as some dislike Fran Drescher.
