Since the series ended, and since it had a good following here on our board... I was wondering in the end how high would you rank Mom amongst your favorite shows (if it has became one of them, obviously).

Personally amongst sitcom, it is my top 3 with Frasier and Roseanne.
And I would pay double cost for a nice complete series boxset :o

Mom is definitely in my top 10, and I haven't seen every episode.

I'm not a huge fan of the final season, as losing Christy was not cool, but the other seasons were amazing. Loved them.

Like MASH, Mom was much funnier in the beginning. Christy’s interaction with her kids, ex, and restaurant staff was much funnier than the whiny women at the bistro.

One other thing, Anna Faris needs to grow up. She’s 44 years old and shares way too much about her sex life. She also talks about her ex all the time, just make her boyfriend feel great.

After quitting show good luck to her finding another gig.

Welcome, Viking!

(It's my understanding that there may be health issues related to Anna's sudden departure. Maybe bulimia, maybe drugs, who knows? But if so, I just wish her the best of luck with recovery.)

I do agree that the first three seasons were the best.

Glad to hear it is in someone else's top 10! :)

Yes. The photo in your profile, for me, perfectly encapsulates what made Mom such a great show!

I’m surprised you haven’t seen every Ep Retro. With nick @ nite reruns ive seen every Ep (besides s8 which isn’t rerun yet) Atleast ten times .

I caught on to the show later on, maybe during Season 5. As a result, I only caught some Nick at Nite episodes, and never entirely cycled through. I'm sure I've watched over 100 episodes across all seasons, but I likely have more than 50 I've never seen.

Mom has broken into my top 5 favorite sitcoms list. NewsRadio is and I imagine always will be my number one. Mom might be #2 or #3.

I'm pretty certain Mom would be in my top 10 sitcom list. For all genre shows in my top 10 list, I don't think it is. Buffy, The Facts of Life, Desperate Housewives, Supernatural, and Maude will always be my top 5 shows. The other five change depending on my interest at the time. Overall, Mom is a good show. Season 2 will always be my favorite because of how dark and detailed the writing was. It was an intense season waiting to see the dramatic conclusion to Bonnie's downward spiral after Alvin's death. I like how the show didn't wrap things up right away in the early seasons. They treated this show realistically. I haven't seen that type of writing since Roseanne was on.

So true! I love that things don't get neatly wrapped up.

Here's an episode from NewsRadio. It's the third episode broadcast. The only thing you need to know going in is that Dave and Lisa are in a secret office romance that only Beth knows about.
