I don't think it was so much a "dark side" but more Kevin and Paul trying like crazy to impress the new tough and rebellious kid with the added component of dangerous excitement.

Yeah the episode was amazing to I thought it the rude kid had a bad be attitude which is why Kevin and Paul did not want to be friends with him but it was cool to see Kevin and Paul show realism in the episode lots of kids smoked and drinked in the 60s and 70s.

This episode showed a dark side to kevin and Paul they were only 12 drinking and smoking this has to be the most controversial episode in the series they also showed perverted side to kevin and Paul which is too realistic making fun of Winnie being flat chested wow no way could they get away with this episode in 2025 people too sensitive
