Ever since it's release in 1992 I have never understood why Free Willy has become a successful movie and franchise? Is it because it's a heartwarming movie or people who love whales really enjoy seeing it? Because ever since Free Willy came out there was a cartoon series and a sequel followed that began the start of the Free Willy franchise series and with the recent Free Willy sequel that came out years ago it seems that the Free Willy series will continue and never stop

I've never seen Free Willy in it's entirety but from what i've seen it's amazing and I think when Free Willy came out in theaters in 1992 I think it was a major success but what I think played a part in Free Willy's success was Michael Jackson's songs and because of them Free Willy became a hit. I do hope they continue the franchise very well

Hi, Bestie! I don't know why Free Willy was so successful. Maybe because kids could dream about being friends with a whale. That is why Flipper was so successful. I always wondered why they used a killer whale. They would eat the kid in real life.

I didnt really like this when it came out but I have recently seen Free Willy 3 which is NOT 'DIGITALLY PROCESSED' and I do say I like it!!

I have found a copy of the first that isnt 'Digitally Processed' so I might get it....

Right now I think 3 is the best part :)
