It has been over a month since I started a thread called "The Luck of the Irish". In this thread, I mentioned the fact that Joey's family had prejudice against the Irish as well as people who worked for the postal service. I felt that it was interesting that his family's prejudice against the Irish was never dealt with before or since. I have since seen this episode in syndication. The episode was called "The One with Rachel's Big Kiss". This episode was very late in the series. I have since thought of two earlier occasions in which there were characters with Irish names. In the first season, there was an episode that dealt with Monica having had a crush on a boy named Jason Hurley in high school. Because Joey was not there when this boy was mentioned, there was no occasion for Joey to make any type of remark about his ethnicity. I believe that it was in the second season in which Monica was dating a man twenty-one years her senior who answered to the name Dr. Burke. Another Irish name. They could have written into the script something about Joey saying that his family would not like him. Pointing all of this out is really just an attempt to stimulate some conversation.

In the first place, I remember Rose making that Joke on the "Golden Girls". I thought it was very funny! On top of this, I would like to make a correction to something that I said in my initial post. I wrote that it had been over a month since my thread titled "Luck of the Irish". I meant to write that it had been over "two" month since the start of that thread! Sorry about my carelessness.
HA HA HA!!!

Cool. Now I’m wondering if Melanie told the joke to Elka (Betty White). Don’t think so though. Think it was to someone else.

That would be funny if Melanie told the joke to Elka since Betty White is the one who first told the joke as Rose! Speaking of silly Irish jokes, there was one silly one on "Alice" when the girls fix up Mel's apartment. They decided to spruce up the place with some philodendra plants. Mel says he thinks they are talking about an Irish guy named Phil O'Dendra!
