I don’t often follow up on the cast to see how they’re doing now, but for some reason I thought of Joanie, and hence Laurie Walters.

Seems her husband of nearly 20 years was killed by a drunk driver in 2017.

I wish I had an address for her so I could send a kind note, even though this happened a while back.

This is sad to hear. I always liked Laurie in her role on EIE. This reminds me that I just was reading recently that Dinah Manoff's son was killed in a car accident. The whole cast of Empty Nest were all talented, but I particularly liked Dinah in her role.
