We've all ran into the buttinsky people who want to complain about everything. For better or worse they've picked up the nickname Karen.

I was driving near home in the neighborhood. I gave a young, 20-something pedestrian a wide berth, and she showed her teeth at me, and yelled SLOW DOWN! I was going 28 at the time, a perfectly reasonable speed.

Rhymes with itch...

Any other stories?

Well there was a big one here with a male Karen. He was an entitled lawyer who starting bi##hing at two Latinas for speaking Spanish in a cafe. Boy did he get owned! With the help of the Internet, an observer found out who he was. His practice got bombarded with a gazillion 1 ratings on Yelp. And a mariachi band and Mexican food cart sets up across the street from his building. It was all on the news a few years ago. He was a real as#h#le—or perhaps more appropriately “un pallazzo pend#j#!

As far as sit-com characters famous for being "karen-like" individuals, I would like to submit Rosanne as the prototype alien queen.

The media seems to portray Karens as including race in their description. Is that how you see it?

I don’t; I think they portray the whole picture. Just my take on it though.

I think there is an inverse aspect causing this. Right now you really cannot talk disparagingly about people happening to (also) be minorities, without being "credited" for having race as a motive.

So, whites are a convenient target.

It would've been a lot better if they hadn't chosen an existing name for that. One of my most favorite people in the world is named Karen. :(

I know good people named Karen so I agree that it's most unfortunate to have that new connotation applied to their name.

When I was 19, I was out riding my motorcycle one day, not paying attention to where I was going, and at about 40 mph returned my attention to the road ahead, and found myself 10 feet from impact with a car stopped at a redlight. No time to react, I made impact about half way between "OH" and "s***"

I was EXTREMELY fortunate that my momentum vaulted me up and over the handlebars two sprained thumbs was the extent of my injuries, Flipped up in the air, and came down on the car's trunk, on my back.....and just sort of oozed may way down onto the pavement.

Out of the car came an 8 month pregnant woman, bawling about how she saw me hit in her rearview mirror, thought I was dead for sure...and she was gonna miscarry.

So there I am, lucky to be alive, shaken, still buzzed from the adrenaline, and I'm the one escorting her over to the curb for a place to calm down.
AND IT WAS ALL ABOUT HER, AND HER BABY... I don't know who that woman's support group was, but whoever they were, must have been pampering her endlessly. Seldom have I ever met another person so emotionally needy.

Good thing I didn't need the attention of the ambulance crew when they arrived, because she certainly capitalized.

Whites are the only target in the world today.

A white woman complains about something innocuous against someone black and has her name immortalized forever.

Ghetto blacks shoot each other every night and no one gives a ****.

The Palestinians might give you an argument there.

I've had a number of run-ins with so-called KARENS over the years, especially when I worked in retail management.

The palestinians shoot first. Then they complain when the people they shoot at shoot back. That's the mother of all specious arguments.

That's convenient thinking. The Israelis are the Karens of the Middle east

So you side with the arabs that bring terrorism around the world. I actually thought you had pretty sensible political opinions until this.

No, now that is an unfair summation. I side with neither. I recognize that both sides have more than their fair share of blame for the unrest that goes on over there.

Both are terrorist states. And like quarreling children, should both be spanked and put to bed.

No, tell me whether Israelies or Jews in general bring hostilities to other parts of the world. The simple answer is that they don't. moslems vs. Jews. moslems vs. Christians. moslems vs. Hindus. moselms vs. Buddhists. Notice any pattern here? Jews defend themselves in Israel because they are tired of being attacked everywhere that they live. moslems start wars and attack indiscriminately wherever they are, often against their own kind. Israel, like the US, tries to avoid civilian casualties because they are civilized. arabs/moslems aim for civilian casualties. Israel could wipe every arab country off the map if they wanted to. They don't do it. The instant the arabs (or Iran) had the power to destroy Israel, they would do it the next day and dance on the corpse.

This not being the political forum, it likely would not be appropriate for us to continue the debate here. Suffice it to say that I feel you are being far too charitable to one of the parties, for reasons I can only imagine.

I propose that we just find solace in the many areas we do see similarly, and recognize that no two people are going to be in 100% agreement about everything.
