I snuck in or snuck others into the drive-in movies a lot. Mostly for the B movies like Piranha.

I never did. I never wanted to see a movie so much that I'd risk an even small chance of getting caught, and the attendant hell I'd catch if I was.

My thoughts exactly. Those are also precisely the films that need and count on every ticket sale they can get.

My cheapskate uncle, my mother's brother, had my cousin and me crouch down in the back seat, to get us into the drive-in as under 12.

This man got off the Merritt or Wilbur Cross Parkways, went thru a town, and got back on to avoid what were probably quarter toll booths.

That is how they got us in. I would not call anyone in my group a cheapskate though as we were all teens. More like poor. If the driver had not come, the drive-in would not even have that fare.

I don't think we ever had a sold-out show.

Later, my girlfriend and I would sit in the alley next to the screen, while sitting on our horses and watch movies. Fast Times at Ridgemont High was one of the movies.

I have slipped in after my movie was over but I didnt stay :D

at 16 I was Head Usher at the local cinema and left the back door open for many friends - until I got fired for it - was sick of the job anyway ...

I was also working at the local drive in theater in the concession stand and my friends were working the gate letting other friends in for free ...

I was ONCE in a car trunk to sneak in a drive in and was in a panic to get out ASAP - (dark & hot & stuffy & claustrophobic - not good)

Drive In's later charged by the car / not by the person - much better

We even had "X" Rated drive ins in the 70's - those were more a keg party toward the rear than for seeing a movie -

Madera is no longer my town. I moved away years ago. It is now full of hispanics. It went from 10,000 people when I lived there to 60,000 today all from mass immigration.

No. But with other kids, we went under the fence of the high school football stadium once and played in there -- and could've been in real trouble for trespassing.

All excited about Mark of the Devil where you got a complimentary barf bag as a gimmick. Anyone remember that? As for the drive-in they were fun until the mosquitoes snuck in. Once we went to Georgetown X-rated Drive-in and one of the films went on fire it was neat. Imagine a family going to the drive-in and letting the kids go play at the playground without worrying about pedophiles.
