In the past, I have written quite a bit about the impact that the third-season episode "Samantha's Protest" had on me. Most of what I have posted had to do with the secondary plot of Katie's inability to get the handsome boy from the protest to ask her out. I remember thinking at age fourteen that Katie got what she deserved for trying to use a sit-in as an opportunity to pick up a boy. I felt that her lack of scruples really backfired on her! In some of my posts, I have compared this episode to episodes of other shows in which characters had to deal with disappointment. My favorite comparison is that of the "Brady Bunch" episode called the "Snooperstar". I have corresponded with a lot of people about this matter. Some have agreed with me about the parallels in situations and some have disagreed. In any event, it was Katie who was played by Kari Michaelsen who got disappointed at the end of "Samantha's Protest". On the "Brady Bunch", it was Cindy who was played by Susan Olsen who had to deal with disappointment in that episode. I recently realized that Kari Michaelsen and Susan Olsen were both born in 1961. That being the case, they both turn sixty this year! What a coincidence!

The final episode of The Brady Bunch sure was silly with Greg's hair turning orange.

I agree that was pretty silly! As a symbol of protest, Robert Reed refused to be in it. In any event, that episode was two episodes after the one that I wrote about when I first started this thread.

Two people born the same year? That is a crazy coincidence. I wonder if anyone else was born that year?
