Recently i was introduced to The Doris Day Show. In addition to finding out why people on TAGs referenced Que Sara Sara, i also got into my head an idea about how TAGS might've been able to survive the rural purge without Barney or doing Mayberry RFD: My plan would've been for the last episode of Season 8 to be Andy and Helen Get married (which was the pilot for Mayberry RFD) and the next season would feature Andy, Helen and Opie moving to Charlotte for Andy to be a big detective. You get away from Mayberry, Andy can be a big city guy, you can have Ron Howard go to a boarding school when he decides to do other things (rather than the Excuses that Andy gave during Mayberry RFD's first season) and you also can start to cause TAGs to start to embrace the more urban programing CBS would become famous for in the seventies.
