Count me out. I don't like the classics reframed in contemporary context.

It maybe a classic but not everything ages well.

Count me out. I don't like the classics reframed in contemporary context.

There’s no way it can be as bad as every post-original series Flintstones incarnation from the ’70s through the ’90s — especially when Henry Corden was voicing Fred.

So they're going skip the ice age and put them in a timeline where dinosaurs and mammoths have been long extinct man somebody didn't pay attention in world history class but in all fairness the original Flintstones wasn't all that accurate either.

I'm going to give it a try. It'll be great to see a grown up Pebbles. You can't keep her a baby forever. The last time we saw her was when she and Bam Bam had babies. Time for a fresh update.

I'm glad Seth MacFarlands' Flintstone reboot fell thru. It would have been garbage. At least this one will be fresh and differant and not the same. Do we really need Seth to voice the lead in another show? I don't think so. Time to deflate his massive ego.

Elizabeth Banks Leads Voice Cast of "Bedrock" as it Scores Pilot Presentation at Fox
by Rosy Cordero
March 10, 2023

Elizabeth Banks' "Bedrock", which she has been shepherding for the past two years, has scored a pilot presentation at Fox.

The Voice Cast:

Stephen Root as Fred
Amy Sedaris as Wilma
Nicole Byer as Betty
Joe Lo Truglio as Barney
Elizabeth Banks as Pebbles
Manny Jacinto as Bamm-Bamm

The primetime animated adult comedy series continues the story of the Stone Age family.

Bedrock catches up with the Flintstone family two decades later, with Fred on the brink of retirement and 20-something Pebbles embarking on her own career. As the Stone Age gives way to a shiny and enlightened new Bronze Age, the residents of Bedrock will find this evolution harder than a swing from Bamm-Bamm’s club.

Warner Bros. Animation and Fox Entertainment are producing.

Elizabeth Banks teases her Flintstones spinoff series in development following an adult Pebbles (https://movieweb.com/elizabeth-banks-teasing-pebbles-flintstones/)

The Flintstones is getting an update that's in the works at Fox, and a new update has arrived courtesy of Elizabeth Banks. The Cocaine Bear helmer is executive producing the new Flintstones series, titled Bedrock, which primarily follows an adult Pebbles Flintstone. Banks is also providing the voice of Pebbles for the new cartoon show.

In a recent chat with TVLine (https://tvline.com/interviews/elizabeth-banks-press-your-luck-emmys-bedrock-flintstones-sequel-series-1235004423/), Banks clarifies (https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/14j3ej5/elizabeth_banks_teases_her_flintstones_spinoff/) that Bedrock is "still in development." She added, "I'm also playing Pebbles, excitedly, and we're working on it."

While the animated series follows an older Pebbles, fans shouldn't expect it to be geared toward adult audiences, much in the way Mindy Kaling's Scooby-Doo spinoff Velma had been. Banks says that Bedrock is designed to be enjoyed by both children and adults so families can watch it together. With that said, she teased that the show may have a little bit of edge to it in the vein of something like The Simpsons.

"Oh, I think we still want it to be for co-viewing [by parents with their kids]," Banks explains. "It will have adult themes, like all the greats — just like The Simpsons or South Park — but 'family-ish friendly.' I mean, I let my kids watch South Park…"

When jokingly asked if that means Bamm-Bamm wouldn't be suffering from ED in the series, Banks noted, "Not that I know of right now!"

"Bedrock" No Longer in Development at Fox
by Dave Nemetz
July 17, 2024

Fox‘s adult-oriented "Flintstones" update is history. The animated sequel series "Bedrock" is no longer in development at the network, sources tells TVLine, though Fox is open to redeveloping the project at a later date.

The new take on the classic cartoon would have caught up with the “modern Stone Age family” twenty years later, with Fred on the brink of retirement and twentysomething Pebbles embarking on her own career. Elizabeth Banks was set to voice Pebbles and also serve as an executive producer.

I would much rather have this than the garbage that they have following the Simpsons nowadays.

This would have been a change of pace for FOX. Instead of having the usual formula of a family with a man in the lead, we would have had a female lead. Bless the Harts had a female lead and the other characters were female with 1 male. I want to see more variety and enough of animated families.
