(Ralph comes home with Ed. They greet the girls.)
Ralph: "I can't believe it. It's Mother's Day and not one peep has been made about your mother Alice."
Alice: "I have been meaning to tell you Ralph. My mother is coming tonight along with my Dad."
Trixie: "My parents are coming tonight too Ed. Both of you are going to be nice to our mothers."
Ralph: "We will be nice to them? That is impossible. Me and my mother-in-law don't get along. We are enemies. Natural enemies. Like a boa constrictor and a mongoose."
Ed: "Yeah and your mother Trixie can be nasty to me. She says that I am a bum since I work in the sewer."
Ralph: "That mother of yours better not be a blabbermouth tonight. I hope she doesn't spoii the outcome of a play that I am going to see tomorrow called Murder Strikes Out 2."
(A knock on the door is heard. Ralph answers it. It's Alice's parents.)
Alice's Dad: "Hiya Ralph and Alice. Hello Nortons."
Alice's Mom: "Hiya Alice. Hello Ralph. I am surprised that the floor hasn't caved in yet with you on it."
(Ed laughs. Ralph elbows Ed and slaps the wall.)
Alice's Mom: "This has been a great day. Yesterday your sister Alice gave me tickets to Murder Strikes Out 2. I know you said that Ralph is going tomorrow night. The ending wasn't a surprise for me. I knew all along that it wasn't the friend who killed her. It was the mother."
(Ralph gets angry and gets in Alice's Mother's face.)
Ralph (yells): "YOOOOOU ARE A BLABBERMOUTH. A BLAB-BER-MOUTH. YOU. BLABBERMOUTH. BOTH OF YOU TWO, GET OUT. OOOOOOOOOOOOUT! OUT!"
Alice: "Ralph. Mom and Dad, before you two leave, Ralph is going to apologize for treating you two that way and you Mom have to apologize for spoiling the outcome of the play."
Ralph: "All right. I'm sorry. This is Mother's Day after all."
Alice's Mom: "So am I. I am sorry that I tuined your tickets."
Ed: "Give me the ticket Ralph. I will go."
Ralph: "Why don''t you want to go? You know the ending."
Ed: "Makes no difference to me. I will wait until it gets to the end of the show and than I will get up and walk out. Plus, this way I can avoid spending a night with my mother-in-law."
(Trixie runs after Ed in anger.)
(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)
Jackie: "Thank you. GOOD NIGHT!"
(Crowd cheers.)
