Just happened on this flashback episode of THE NEW LEAVE IT TO BEAVER in which we see Ward meeting June during WWII. Quite cheesy, IMO.

Also it goes against continuity from the original series, then again, the original series had bad continuity when it came to Ward and June in their early years.

Egad those voices! Maybe they could have tried a little harder to find the right actors.

And how believable is it Ward would already have known Fred Rutherford in the service in WWII?

Wally's fraternity states that they met in college, not while Ward was in the service or just enlisted and on his way to Wake Island.

This NEW LEAVE IT TO BEAVER clip illustrates why I am against sequels, prequels, continuations, and the like. It is best to just leave the original material as it is and not try to profit off it by inventing new stuff. LITB is not and will never be a "franchise."

Last 3 good sitcoms Seinfeld, Becker, and The King of Queens. It's hard to get motivated to watch newer stuff. Even YouTube clips. I'd rather rewatch and discuss the 60 year old classics.

I remember occasionally watching the New LITB in the 1980s once in awhile, but I've never seen all of them. There are supposedly legal hangups with the show's ownership which prevent it from being available for TV now, and rumors of its masters burning in the Universal fire several years ago. I have some pretty bad quality bootleg DVDs, and all the episodes are on Youtube.
If there was ever a legit DVD release, or MeTV was able to bring the show back on TV, I'd watch them all. It would be interesting to see many of the actors back, grown up.

It's a good show if you've seen each episode 25 times over your lifetime, and the 26th time is still enjoyable. I've dabbled with TNLITB when it was on. Once you've seen the old cast once it's blah. Many comedic actors lose it at certain points. All true of LITB. Sequels, prequels all pretty much unwatchable after walking down memory lane a minute.
