Is there any way to adjust the settings for my account so that I don't automatically get e-mail notices everytime someone posts in a thread where I have posted to?
I'm flexible on this, everything from disabling subscriptions all together to only accepting notices for replies made directly to me, would be acceptable, but the way it is now getting an e-mail for each time anyone posts to a thread, after I have, is wearing my fingers out having to delete spam.
:D:confused::confused::D

It should... Its all or none,you cant choose which ones to notify you and which dont.... (@ least not on VBB)
You can manage subscribed threads here:
https://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription
If there's too many to unsubscribe from, I can mass delete them.

I usually go in there, to subscriptions, and clean them out from the bottom (oldest), periodically.
On that screen, from the drop-down, you can change any of your subscribed-to threads from instant to daily, or fewer, email notifications.
Another thing you can do, after a post, is search the thread again, and go into Thread Tools on the upper right, and click on Unsubscribe from this Thread. This is useful particularly if you think you're not going to post to that thread again.

Thanks to all of you for responding. Typically I use a "burner" e-mail account to sign up for all web related activity that requires one.
And the account I used when registering here, I never went back to in over a year. But when I did, I was overwhelmed with how many subscription notification e-mails I had waiting for me to delete.
And the "someone else has responded to a thread that you have (also) posted in" notifications...just seemed a bit too much.
So, after spending several hours on housekeeping, I got that account back to a manageable size, and came here looking for the source of the Nile, so to speak.
And found the "Empty Current Folder" feature under "list subscriptions" in the user control panel.
And, that worked great, so long as I remembered to use it each time I posted. But finding remembering to do so to be more challenging than I had expected, became curious if there was just a way to either shut the faucet off, or at least turn it down to a trickle.
Letting a few get through every now and then is not a bad idea, because that way it assures the account stays active, and the provider won't close it due to dormancy.
But the way it was, I was just as concerned the provider might assume neglect, with the buffers all overflowing with un-retrieved messages. Sort of like when you see somebody's front porch overflowing with unread newspapers, etc,
