stealing your mother’s silver to bail out your friend without her consent. I watched the Mama’s silver episode last night and Vinton was such an ass. He STOLE his own mother’s silver from under her feet just to bail out his friend and acts as if he’s such a saint and mama’s in the wrong for confronting him about it. I mean, what do you want, a reward and a pat on the back?
I’m sorry but I’m all team Mama on this one.
OH Nuts!

Me too, but as curmudgeonly as she can be, she tends to cut Vinton some slack as she knows he’s not the brightest bulb on the block.

Vint was boarder-line an abusive thug in those first couple of episodes.... TOTALLY DIFFERENT from what he became in later episodes. He was also sorta bullying to his kids.... trying to impose toxic masculinity on Buzz, criticizing him for having out with Tommy Boyland, who was "too sissy"..... Telling Sonya to "Shut up!" for nothing basically.

I do like that Vint's character was softened from the early episodes, but not into the absolute dip*&$% he and for that matter Naomi became in the syndicated years.

I liked him best probably in like the later NBC episodes and early syndicated episodes. But in those first few he almost came across as abusive in a sense. I remember there was a scene that went something like, Mama simply asked Vint where he was going and he snaps at her like, "Can't a man even walk out of the house without his Mama having to know is every move?!" I don't remember exactly but it was went something like that.
