View Full Version : Watching "Spin City" on Pluto TV Chocolate Moose 04-27-2021, 02:43 PM I'm really enjoying it! Not sure how long it will last there so I'm drinking in as much as possible! principehomura 07-17-2022, 05:04 AM I started watching this show yesterday. In its original runtime I only watched a few episodes occasionally. It aired late in the evening, and it was a pain to follow american shows on italian television back then, with random schedules, and so many reruns that it was impossible to know if it was a new episodes or not. Anyway, I really enjoyed the pilot. Really funny and Michale J. Fox still got it. What a wonderful actor. principehomura 07-31-2022, 04:06 PM I must admit that after Carla Gugino departure the show really change pace and gains on every aspect. She's a very good actress and her character adorable: it just didn't fit the scene and writing her out was the right move. Now the mix of cast and characters. Michael J. Fox was a superstar, and would be in the Mount Rushmore of sitcom actors. There's something of Alex P. Keaton in Michael Flaherty, and for classic sitcom fan is just enough to indulge with the episodes. Connie Britton prior her breakout role in Friday Night Lights already show to be a quality performer. And it is nice to see her as the opposite of trusting and goodhearted Tami Taylor. Richard Kind is a splendid character actor, never ceased to make me laugh. Stuart, Carter and James complete the roster. Six different characters with six opposite personalities. Really well put togeher. And the most funny character is the mayor, smart the way he's played, like a naive puppet mostly unaware of everything. Surprised this show hadn't more success, hope the next seasons won't be a disappointment. principehomura 08-01-2022, 05:13 PM Yesterday I saw the episode with Marlee Matlin, which I adore, and certainly the show will have a hard time topping that. I didn't expect to see her, it was really a surprise :) principehomura 08-06-2022, 01:04 PM Finished season 1 and started season 2! Definetely glad I am watching this, it is really funny. principehomura 08-13-2022, 11:53 AM Halfway thorugh season 2. The only thing I am not enjoying this far is the harsh treatment the writers reserve to Paul for cheap laughs. Sometimes it's plain bullism. principehomura 08-18-2022, 12:57 PM It gets funnier and funnier, I am really enjoying this. I am really impressed with Jennifer Esposito. I must admit that at first I thought she was added to the cast because the "beautiful girl" mark was unchecked since Carla Gugino left the show; but she's really terrific and her characters is probably the funniest one. She has a perfect time in delivering her lines and possesses also a great mimic. Too bad she hasn't done any sitcom after this one, but I will look for her other roles. principehomura 08-23-2022, 02:58 PM Paul's wedding is one of the most funny episode ever in a sitcom. It was amazing! Started season 3. I see some problem may arise with female cast. Looks like the writers are unable to write women properly on this show. Chemistry and arcs grew only for males (with Carter and Stuart that are now comedy gold). The women are funny, but always on the background. Nikki is almost a cardboard, Stacey had a prominent role midseason 2 now is almost invisible (pity, the actress is huge), Claudia is the sidekick of a sidekick and let alone Janelle. Things were no different with Ashley. It is still one of the funniest show I've seen, but the female cast is really a waste. If only they could write in better parts for them. biffbronson 08-23-2022, 05:57 PM Carla Gugino & Michael J. Fox make for such an attractive pairing: 279479 279480 Chocolate Moose 08-24-2022, 11:18 AM good times! principehomura 09-08-2022, 05:43 PM Super letdown after the first episodes of season 4. I am really mad that Stacey didn't have a proper goodbye, not to speak of losing her for Caitlin which is unbearable, really one of the most unsufferable characters ever in a sitcom. Might as well calling it quits here, thanks for the previous 3 seasons, they were the most fun. |
