"NCIS: Los Angeles" Renewed for Season 13

CBS has renewed "NCIS: Los Angeles" for a 13th season.

""NCIS: LA" was the only established, highly rated CBS drama series that was not part of the recent mass renewal at CBS, which included a pickup for "NCIS" with star/executive producer Mark Harmon set to come back.

The omission simply was due to some deals not being finalized. Those have now been completed, with stars LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell both set to return. Also back as executive producer/showrunner is R. Scott Gemmill.

"Well, it wasn’t what we were going to do, that’s for sure," R. Scott Gemmill says of the season finale that included Hetty's unexpected cameo. "We were going to use the finale that we had written for last season, which got bumped because of COVID, and then we realized everyone had such a tough, sh***y year, that we couldn’t in good conscience put the fans through any more trauma. So we decided to go in the exact opposite way and do a fun, feel-good episode that leaves everyone happy and hopeful for what is coming down the line."
