I've often found it to be a humorous paradox. All the emphasis upon being ourselves... genuine, truthful, and straight forward, without deceit,... yet the billion+ dollar cosmetic industry continues to thrive.

women today are full with padded bras / or implants, but men ... not much available for a padded cod piece - what happened to equality ?

Actually, there is an operation available for men,=>. However, going into too much detail would run contra to the interests of this forum, but it involves severing a muscle.

I read that in the early 1990s when it was supposedly the second most frequent cosmetic procedure, behind you can guess what was the most common.

I guess that I was blessed with indifference to what others think of me. Over the years I've known many people who were obsessed with trying to live up to what they perceived to be the expectations of "others". And their existence seemed to be one of misery. (although they were quite popular, as one would imagine)

In contrast, the people who I truly admired were people who didn't HAVE to care about what others thought, I think I tried to emulate them.
