Dawn addressed her wardrobe in this 2018 article run late last year, though not the dresses specifically:

I can't imagine.
Bonniegirl 04-11-2021, 11:06 PM Mary Ann was so much cuter and hotter than Ginger IMO ! :)( Straight woman opinion here) !!;):D

Both were great to me, even Lovey had her moments,
:)
cloggedmind 04-12-2021, 01:23 AM Imagine what you'd see if Gilligan's Island were crossed with Broad City!
As a sidebar while perusing the prurient path here's something to look for: Try to spot the rare shots of Dawn in the series without her clip-on or "cocaine teeth", as they were described in the book "What Would Mary Ann Do?: A Guide To Life".

I think she was much more devastatingly adorable with her natural smile from that time. She would later have two teeth pulled and braces to even things out.

And whoever designed those clip-on teeth for celebs at CBS must've had one helluva run, as you see the same "design" or quick-fix going back as far as, at least, Don Knotts in The Andy Griffith Show. Notice how his spaced and gapped natural smile is covered with a similar dental appliance after a few episodes.

This was long before Knotts had a smile overhaul in the 70's that tamed the slightly protruding uppers and added what seemed like eighteen extra back teeth on each side for the Mr. Furley era and beyond.

The last time I recall seeing the CBS style of clip-on show teeth was the early 80s episode of MASH, "Your Retention, Please", where Barry Corbin's brown, disintegrating natural teeth can be seen underneath a similar, ultra-white clip-on appliance. A stark contrast to his own questionable (eventually replaced) and not closeup friendly choppers!

To close and get back on track, one of my personally signed photos from Dawn. The show was only a half-hour, but those legs go on and on and on:

Ginger who?!

Yep! Lovey Howell was a very attractive middle aged lady ! :);)
Bonniegirl 04-12-2021, 01:49 AM As a short woman myself and a natural brunette ( now blonde) ! Us petite girls with brunette (or blonde) hair can be just as hot, if not hotter than a very tall redhead!!!;):):D:cool:
biffbronson 04-12-2021, 06:54 AM Few women rocked the short dress on '60s TV as well as Majel Barrett on Star Trek.

Hazel Anyday 04-12-2021, 06:55 PM I knew there was a reason why I always liked Mary Ann better! Wowzers, give me a little girl in a short dress anytime over a tall one in a sparkling maxi.
Never heard of Majel, but I never was a fan of Star Trek. She must not have appeared in anything I ever saw. I still like Mary Ann better in a mini. As for "cocaine teeth" that's a new one on me, never heard that expression either. Have I been living in a bubble?

They really liked Mary Ann in the shortest of skirts !

SarahBellum 09-03-2021, 02:34 PM Gilligan, Skipper and Professor always wore the same clothing, but the others seemed to have an extensive wardrobe. How did that happen? Did the others pack some extra clothing for that 3 hour tour? Or did some clothing wash ashore into the lagoon?

That would be a good future episode ... you may have a future as a sitcom writer !

:lol::lol::lol::lol: Good one!
I can't imagine Ginger, Mr, or Mrs. Howell wearing clothes that washed up on shore, and they were almost always impeccably dressed. I want to know who pressed all of their clothes so they had no wrinkles.

She definitely was cuter, and also had a nicer personality.

Funny thing is Mary Ann said many times Ginger was sweet as pie on the set, always helpful, and truly a professional actress as well. Ginger played the snob well and Mary Ann played the sweetheart just as well.
Some of my fav moments is when Ginger has to act MAD and her true voice and tone comes out ! Shows how much she is acting 99% of the time +-
Ginger had quite a resume in tv & film (she co-starred on a Jack Benny 1 hour special) prior to Gilligan's Island and was possibly about to break out in some form, but the GI show ended it in some ways - I get the vibe she was chasing to become a Marilyn Monroe level of fame, she sure had the face & body ...

Maybe, but times were changing. The glamour look of Rita Hayworth, Betty Grable and Marilyn Monroe was leaving and more natural looking women like Raquel Welch, Farrah Fawcett and Sally Field was coming in.

Mary Ann pressed them with a hot coconut.
