As far as live-action superheroes go, fans today don't know how good they've got it. With both Zack Snyder's Justice League and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier coming out recently, it's time to look back to a time when many had to make do with much less sophisticated superheroes. In the seventies, big-screen superheroes (https://deluxevideoonline.org/retro-review-spider-man-1977/) were MIA. Things were a bit better on the small screen, with shows like Wonder Woman and The Incredible Hulk doing well in the ratings (https://tvaholics.blogspot.com/2012/07/a-look-back-at-amazing-spiderman-1977.html?m=0). This led to the creation of this week's Gone But Not Forgotten subject (https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/stan-lee-hated-1970s-amazing-spider-man-tv-series-1017027), The Amazing Spider-Man (http://www.warpedfactor.com/2016/04/10-things-you-might-not-know-about_18.html). A decidedly low-tech take on the Marvel superhero, this short-lived (https://www.cancelledscifi.com/2020/07/25/cancelled-too-soon-the-amazing-spider-man-1977/) series (https://mashable.com/2016/03/28/the-amazing-spider-man/) starred the likable Nicholas Hammond (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNLNQFKJHQg) (The Sound of Music and recently Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time in Hollywood) as Peter Parker, aka The Amazing Spider-Man (https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/the-amazing-spider-man-tv-series-deserves-an-official-release/). Join us as we examine this campy but often endearing show.

Stam Fine Reviews looks at the short-lived 1977 series starring Nicholas Hammond as Peter Parker. You might know his alter-ego: Spider-Man. The Amazing Spider-Man may be a somewhat ironic title but technically, this was actually a hit series in terms of ratings but was cut-short because only kids liked it. Also stars Chip Fields, Robert F Simon, Michael Pataki, and Ellen Bry.
