June was a meddling control freak on wheels in this episode, but I think Ward did a pretty good job and did what he could to restrain her machinations. Did what he could within the ability to maintain good relations with June.

Knowing June's, and to a lesser degree Ward's zealousness in monitoring their son's activity, you'd be wise to be as tight-lipped as possible about your intentions or activities as could be. You'd be wise to run your own counter-intelligence as well; no paper trails in your pockets or wastebasket, don't keep stuff you don't want to be seen any place mother might look. It'd be exhausting!

If June had modern technology she'd be a one woman CSI lab.

"Wally, I noticed from your sweater hair samples that must be from a blonde female of Scandanavian descent. Did you lend your sweater to Alma Hansen again?"

"Beaver, it was clear from the compound of water on your pant cuffs that a certain kind of algae on it indicating you were at a natural body of water. There was also dried slime of salamanders in your pocket linings. Mrs Mondello is trying to determine from the salamander DNA of whether you were at Miller's pond or Friend's lake. didn't we tell you not to go there?"

"Beaver, the evidence from your wet towels in the bathroom clearly points to the fact that you never did in fact take a bath, but just faked it by dampening your towel and wetting the soap. Oh Beaver, how could you?"

June: Beaver, I noticed by the positioning of your toothbrush that it looked as though you had just moistened the brush but didn't actually brush your teeth. I checked the toothpaste tube and it appeared to look the same as the picture I snapped yesterday. So to be sure I swabbed your mouth while you were in REM sleep, and the DNA sample just came back from the lab--the bacteria count is way more than Crest would leave. Plus there was a trace of nicotine, which Crest would not have left intact. Now, what do you have to say for yourself?

(Beaver is speechless for a few moments): Well...I...uh. I got nothin'.

( Laughs out loud, literally )

Wait until she lifts Wally's fingerprints off of the scissors he used to cut Beaver's hair. I do think Wally and "the Beav" will slide on the alcohol test regarding the missing brandy though...

June: Beaver, when your father and I got back from the Comptons', we found a bottle of milk on the counter.

When I used my fingerprint kit on on the bottle, I found your prints were fresh within two hours.

We also found the refrigerator door open. When I checked the temperature five feet from the door with my thermocouple, it was 45 degrees. My comparative charts indicate, with that reading, the door would have been open for two hours.

I might add I lifted your fresh print off the door handle, too. Oh, one good thing for you, young man: I swabbed the rim of the glass you left out, and your DNA was on it. It is lucky for you, you did not drink out of the bottle!

Now, let's see, have I left anything out?

Beaver: Did you an' Dad have a good time at the Comptons'?

June: Yes, we did. I'm sailing. Now, how do you plead?

Beaver: You don't trust us, do you?

June: What ever gave you that idea?

Ah yes, June's legendary "gaslighting" of her family.

Notice Wally and Beaver have to fold their napkins when done eating, and leaving the table. Then, ask permission to leave the table.

Gaslighting is a form of psychological abuse where a person or group makes someone question their sanity, perception of reality, or memories. People experiencing gaslighting often feel confused, anxious, and unable to trust themselves.Ah yes, June's legendary "gaslighting" of her family.

Beaver was a rabbit, wasn't he?
