It's hard to believe now that Sesame Street has been on for 50 years and has been teaching toddlers lessons such as reading math colors and shapes and of course ABC's and 123's and now with this special soon to air on ABC it will talk about how after 50 years Sesame Street still is successful after all this time. While introducing us to lovable characters such as Big Bird Oscar The Grouch the very funny and silly Grover the sassy and spunky Abby Cadabby and of course the ever popular Elmo Sesame Street introduced children to a whole new world and new way of learning to get them ready for school. While it remained a learning show Sesame Street does have a serious side to it with topics such as death when Sesame Street debuted the famous Mr. Hooper farewell episode illness and learning about growing up different than everybody else. And with occasional appearences from celebrities such as Dax Shepard Katie Couric Meredith Vieira Kunal Nayyar Robin Williams and other stars Sesame Street will continue to be a fan favorite of toddlers for years to come
