View Full Version : Are there ANY minorities on Leave it to Beaver ? CosmicCharlie 03-19-2021, 09:23 PM I can even think of just one ? MISST3 03-19-2021, 11:05 PM The Beaver & Chuey episode was one, and Wally referred to them as Spaniards. I can think of two episodes that had a minority reference or minority in them. One was "Kite Day", when Beaver went over to Mr. Henderson's house, who admitted to having "Indian blood", to ask Mr. Henderson, if he could do a "rain dance". Also, in "Parking Attendants", there was a Afro-American maid in the kitchen of the Langley home. RetroGuy2000 03-20-2021, 02:04 AM It wasn't the type of show that depicted minorities. Kinda like the Andy Griffith Show. vitoscotti 03-20-2021, 05:26 AM Ward does the grocery shopping, and buys Chinese TV dinners. Babalu 03-27-2021, 03:48 PM Ever since this PC crap started into high gear about a year ago, I'd say that almost 50% of the people I see on commercials are black. Virtually no other types of minorities, only black. Funny how no one complains about that. Tankeryanker 03-27-2021, 05:12 PM There were several minorities. Anyone but a white male is a minority. I was noticing baseball players Francisco Lindor and Fernando Tatis with their brightly bleached blonde hair, and wondered why that isn't deemed offensive in the same way as if a white person puts on blackface? Not that it bothers me, it's just that dual standards seem to really stick out to me. Plus they just look silly. FWIW, I thought that AJ Pierzynski looked foolish aftre he bleached his hair blonde, too. What about the younger set and all that body piercing? Must be real easy to eat with a ring in your lip. |
