Turner will join Kevin Frazier in hosting the long-running syndicated entertainment show. “It means everything to me,” Turner tells Variety. “Make no mistake about it: I believe and have always believed that I was the best person for the job, but it was never lost on me that it was also bigger than just me. I would be representing an underserved group of people who are finally getting a moment in the spotlight — and a well-deserved moment.”

Well, I'm glad she's happy and looks forward to the job. However, the show debuted in September, 1981 so why did it take nearly four decades for them to finally find an African-American to be in that position? It's not as though there were none in the entertainment industry in all this time.
