View Full Version : What Street and/or street address did the PS apartment get filmed cubsfan1060 07-09-2002, 05:46 PM I recall that The PS apartment was located around Wrigley Field. Which street was it on? James 07-12-2002, 02:26 AM (consulting Rand McNally Chicago & Vicinity 6-County StreetFinder) It would have to be one of the east-west streets like Irving Park Rd., Addison St., or Belmont Ave. since their building number was 711. The street numbers of the north-south streets are in the 3000s in the Wrigley Field area. The apartment where Larry and Balki lived would be east of Halsted St. cubsfan1060 07-13-2002, 10:17 PM Thanks James=) By the way, I understand the Chicago street system very well. If I had to guess, I would narrow the roads down. First of all, since their address is 711, it is east of Halsted. I have been on Irving Park Road numerous times to eat, visit the Serbian community, and even stop by a Serbian radio station. Every time I am on Irving Park, around Route 41(Lake Shore Drive), I try to serch for an old, but nicely remodeled, big, apartment building. Here is what I saw on Irving park between Halsted and Lake Shore Drive:A yellow, instead of red apartment building, a 50+ story office and residential tower called Park Place, a 20+ story tower, and a few greystones. Secondly, I was on Belmont to buy some novelties on my 15th. birthday which was this past April 21st. There is this place called Uncle Fun located at 145? west Belmont Road. I rode on that one lane(The right lane of Belmont is used for on-street parking!) hell hole of a city street from Lake Shore Drive to Ashland. I looked up and down Belmont and saw a few buildings that might be the one I am talking about. I remember that it was red, English style, somewhat, very large, and three stories. I saw, of the three on Belmont, two, three story apts. like that. Third, I heard some rumors(I forgot where I heard the rumors from) that it was located on Addison. I, obviously will take Addison for an answer. If it is not Addison, then, it must be Belmont. I also, look at the traffic. Addison is two lanes eastbound and two lanes westbound.(Although, the city should have put white lines to separate the right and left lanes) From the PS shots, I saw most cars traveling in a one lane east and one lane west pattern.(I don't really recall that though) Well, I bored you with this lecture, I am sorry=) But, if you do know the street, since I am so curious, please e-mail me at desi42187@aol.com and/or put a post right here. hoganfamily.wav RootBeerRag 07-04-2006, 03:19 PM I realize I'm replying to a post that's about four years old, but incase anyone is interested.. I was in Chicago this past weekend, and I'm about 90% certain that we drove by the building that the guys were supposed to live in(from season three on). I knew that Lorimar actually did so some on location filming for PS, but I was never really convinced that the apartment building(either of them) was actually in Chicago. I figured to avoid complications they just shot a building that was either on a set, or in L.A. somewhere, but.. Keep in mind, it was dark; my friends and I were attempting to find a restaurant, and we were lost. Unfortunately, I was, for the most part, completely disoriented, but it was on a street that intersects with Belmont Ave.; just a few blocks from where Cambridge and Belmont intersect. The building is actually big enough that it faces two different streets. Like I said, I'm not 100% certain; it was a pretty quick view, but if the building was actually in Chicago, this was it. It looks about the same, except for some remodeling around the rows of windows that protrude(sorry, I'm not an expert in archietecture). While I was in the city, I also spotted the building that was used for the "Chronicle"; it's right off of Michigan Ave, in the heart of downtown. |
