In March, the only changes that were made to the CHCH daytime retro lineup was to replace the departing Gilligan's Island at 5 pm with the dreadful Designing Women, with The Partridge Family arriving to take over the 3 pm slot. In about 3 weeks, in mid-April, there will many more changes coming with a few shows leaving only to come back later in the spring and others to move to new time periods. To make sense of it all, here is a complete breakdown of all the changes that are coming. Take note of the various debut dates:

Oddly enough, no replacement has been listed for "Green Acres", which is currently running its final season. I'll fill you in when it happens. Now the fun begins:

At first glance, it looks like the mornings are now stronger with "Gilligan's Island" and "The Flying Nun" making strong follow-ups to "Green Acres" and "The Beverly Hillbillies" and I did get my wish to have the Bradys and Partridges joined together, but I also wish they could have chosen better time slots for them, like later in the afternoon. "Soap" and "Benson" make for a nice pair but after that it is a total train wreck. Whoever decided to put that group together should have their Covid vaccine revoked. Not too many shows make me feel sicker than "Who's The Boss?" and now that it's back I might be spending more time outside to enjoy the weather while saving the earlier hits on my PVR to watch later during rerun season.

Great, an update for the only channel that airs older shows. Too bad CHCH has quit adding shows they haven't aired before...

The way you feel about "Designing Women" is the way I feel about "The Flying Nun." Also, "Who's the Boss." I imagined WTB would be back, but why TFN? So soon? It's so awful.

Hawaii 5-0 is surprisingly good, I've just started watching it a bit and it's been unexpectedly entertaining.

Benson and Maude are interesting...Maude is so dated but at the same time she was "woke" before there was a word for it. It's so strange seeing Bea Arthur and Rue McClanahan in those roles, it's like a history of TV lesson to see them as Maude and Vivian instead of Dorothy and Blanche.

Partridge Family...okay. Slowly starting to like it, the show comes back to CHCH so often.

Green Acres may be the most ridiculous show I have ever watched, but I want to watch it to the end now, since it's so close.

But I love Designing Women, even the episodes I remembered and disliked I've ended up liking them now.
