Piers Morgan (https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2021/03/piers-morgan-meghan-markle-resignation-future.html) is reportedly staying at ITV (https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2021/03/piers-morgan-meghan-markle-meltdown-relationship-timeline.html), despite the fact he quit (https://pagesix.com/2021/03/12/piers-morgan-i-lost-gmb-job-for-not-apologizing-about-meghan/) Good Morning Britain on Tuesday.

The 55-year-old presenter left the daytime show after a row over the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle.

But according to I News, sources at ITV say Piers 'will continue to make programmes for the channel', including the likes of his popular Life Stories series - which has been going since 2009.

It comes after Good Morning Britain lost 300,000 viewers following his unplanned exit from the show.

On Monday, the show managed to beat BBC Breakfast ratings for the first time in history, with 1.89million people tuning in to watch him and Susanna Reid present the day's news.

She said she had approached people in the Royal institution for help, but was turned down.

The Duchess of Sussex said in her interview with Oprah Winfrey that she 'didn't want to be alive anymore'.

And in response to her mental health struggles, Piers said on GMB: "Who did you go to? What did they say to you? I'm sorry, I don't believe a word she said, Meghan Markle.

"I wouldn't believe it if she read me a weather report."

The following day, his colleague Alex Beresford called him out for the comments he made about Meghan, while on air.

Alex branded his controversial remarks 'diabolical', which led to Piers storming off set, saying: "OK, I'm done with this. Sorry, no… sorry, can't do this…"

In response, Alex called Piers' actions 'diabolical behaviour'.

Reports say Piers refused to apologise for his comments on-air after ITV bosses gave him the chance to - and he walked instead.

According to The Sun, ITV's share price dropped by 3.8 percent after Piers quit.

The Mirror has contacted ITV for comment.
