Is lurking the same as being a member, and if so, I'm a member of 6 other forums, some very slow, some very boring and a couple of angry ones, but I can hold my own on this one and they are relentless, I come and go there..I have some favorite topics and that's my M.O.

I've lurked at Home Theater Forum once in awhile, whenever it pops up on a search for some info. Same with the Steve Hoffman forum.

I'm not a lurker, if I find a forum that looks like it's up my alley, I will join, and I've found in the last 6 months or so, some forums are so hard to join, that I give up and go on to look for another. And for me, I'm kinda getting worn out of them. That may change, maybe not. I find the Games to be the good diversion.

I lurked here for several months before joining, and that was just to read the Leave It To Beaver page as I was getting back into the re runs. I was a member of another site, don't even remember the name, but it had various categories including TV, when it closed down I joined SOL.

I lurk various tech/computer forums like Tom's Hardware.

I lurk the Goodreads forums for books to read. Sometimes lurk reddit for similar.

I don't lurk on forums. I may check it out for a couple of days and decide if I like it enough to join.

I used to lurk around on a lot of adult (BDSM) messageboards around Yahoo! as I was too young to join. This was when I must have been around 14-15 around 1999-2000. Those were the days.. lol. Those Yahoo! forums are long defunct.

I dunno. I guess I’m just satisfied to sit back and watch the fighting. Everyone wants the team to win, but no one can agree on the best way to achieve that. The arguing on the Jets board on what to do with the #2 draft pick and whether or not to attempt a trade for Deshaun Watson can reach epic proportions.

It depended on what board you were on. Most of the individual movie boards and genre boards (like Horror) were fun to post in. But most of the off topic boards I avoided for the reason you mentioned.

Same here. Some of the people are crazy. One of the strangest posts was this woman who married a guy who she met from enotalone and only met a few times before marriage. Needless to say they weren't married long.
