While Julia Child and Graham Kerr had competition Jeff Smith was truly a chef who really mastered tons of recipes and taught you the ABC's of cooking delicious food earning his nickname The Frugal Gourmet. While the show was popular it also made The Frugal Gourmet a huge celebrity in cooking selling dozens of cookbooks and more and even featured an episode with the cast of Sesame Street that was so cute. Jeff Smith passed away in the 90's but he will be remembered by all as The Frugal Gourmet.
