There is a quick moment that makes this episode so funny and almost Carol Burnett like. In the fast food restaurant at the end when Mama is going on a rampage just before she gets fired, actress Dorothy Lyman (Naomi) loses it and tries to keep her composure as she busts out laughing and fails to grab her composure before saying her lines. I am surprised the producer kept it in but I am so glad it was left alone. Its probably the only scene in the entire series where you see someone lose it just like on the Carol Burnett show.

Next time you watch it, it happens right as Mama comes out from behind the counter and complain about her family. She goes over to a family eating at the table and starts knocking things off their table. Then Mama turns back and confronts Naomi. Dorothy just buckles and starts laughing but she does manage to get her lines out.

So freaking funny!

For those not familiar with the episode title, this is the episode where Mama and Bubba both work at the fast food restaurant. Mama is trying to get extra money to go to Hawaii with Iola. Mama fails when too much pressure happens and her family shows up.

Yes, it's noticeable and very enjoyable to see Naomi laughing!

In the same episode, the manager is quick to point out that the food never touches a pot~ implied super fast microwaving...so why are there pots/ladles/spatchulas hanging from the wall in the kitchen area?...Oops

Yes, this is real noticeable. Also in the episode where Vint and Naomi are being interviewed by the shrink for the adoption, and Mama is along and gets on the couch and goes on a rant. IIRC Dorothy Lyman covers her mouth and is in danger of losing it there, too.

Glad you guys noticed too. I am glad it was not cut because it's very Carol Burnett and a throwback where Mama came from.
I will have to look for the other time.

If Ed and Eunice had appeared in syndicated episodes, I have a feeling Harvey Korman would be losing it all the time.... he was so easy to make crack up and the new syndicated Mama being as zany as she is
