When (https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/25672-melrose-place/?do=findComment&comment=577658) did Melrose Place (https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/melrose-place-oral-history-marcia-cross-heather-locklear-grant-show-darren-star-look-back-1016500) go (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125239/http://www.jumptheshark.com/m/melroseplace.htm) from (https://www.televisionofyore.com/melrose-place.html) good to bad (https://animesuperhero.com/forums/threads/worst-shark-jumps.3890311/post-58420651)? Was it this moment:

It definitely wasn't that moment. That's a scene from season 1 when the show was lame to watch. Melrose Place started getting really exciting when Kimberly came back from the dead and became a super psycho franken-bitch. That term came from the documentary When Melrose Place Ruled The World on VH-1. Kimberly was the best thing to happen to this show. Her stories were the best and really dragged viewers in. Then they changed the format direction in season 5. The show went from a fun, black comedy soap to a lame run of the mill soap. Season 6 was the worst. It got so bad FOX pulled it off the schedule midway. Most of the cast jumped ship at the end of season 5 and all the stories were about who's sleeping with who. It wasn't what fans wanted. They wanted the crazy stories because that's what Melrose Place was great at.

Others have said (https://www.datalounge.com/thread/31422751-favorite-melrose-place-character-) that Melrose Place started doing downhill in quality when Darren Starr left do work on Central Park West for CBS, which would've been around the fourth season. The people who were now in charge come Season 4, threw a lot of couplings, conflicts, and catfights up on the screen, but nothing had any weight because the pacing was so erratic.
