To go back a bit, in the series finale (https://www.manic-expression.com/2014/05/26/analytical-episode-reviewfamily-ties-alex-doesnt-live-here-anymore-3/), "Alex Doesn't Live Here Anymore" (https://familyties.fandom.com/wiki/Alex_Doesn%27t_Live_Here_Anymore), Elyse was angry over Alex moving out. This was despite the fact that Alex by then, was already a college graduate who was now going away to New York.
Shouldn't a woman like Elyse really be concerned if he was not leaving home? Why is she so hurt and needy here? Didn't it always seem like Steven and Elyse Keaton were parents who would want their kids to follow their dreams?
