View Full Version : How's Your Libido, Need Some Help (DHEA)
Caroline13 02-27-2021, 07:17 PM I first got tested about 20 yrs ago by an integrative MD and sure enough I was low, we are all getting low of this hormone as we age...too too bad allopathic MD's don't look at this, they don't. It's otc and very inexpensive, that is probably why, no pharma involved.

Do your research and be smart with your decisions and why not slow down aging process....coming from an older soul healthy female...
And perhaps the males don't need to spend money on Viagra. If this hits home, get levels tested but you can take it to the bank if you are over 30, you are declining with DHEA. Males/Females.
Caroline13 05-10-2021, 03:59 PM I know MOST don't like to discuss health here, but I do and truly believe so many are suffering needlessly due to their DHEA decline.
Here is LifeExtension's history on DHEA.

If not interested, just don't read. Since we're talking about DHEA on a thyroid group I'm a member, thought I'd bring this up again.

Dude, I would not bother, I don't get an inkling from anyone here on alternative/holistic remedies, I hear Vit D now and then but have not seen anything else. Most are mainstream on a lot.
Dude111 05-11-2021, 04:19 PM Yea I have noticed that..... They cant seem to handle non-mainsteam views!!
Caroline13 05-06-2023, 05:41 PM Well, it's just about 2 yrs since I've brought this up to refresh minds here. Just heard one of my excellent MD's on his Saturday radio show and osteoporosis was brought up by several callers, and Dr. goes right to decline in hormones.....
DHEA starts it's decline in our bodies in our 20's on....it's all downhill from there with what we are born with.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3746247/
Conceptually, supplementing a pre-hormone is extremely interesting, but is very different from supplementing a hormonal end product. The human organism needs the time to adequately use it throughout long periods, increasing or decreasing end products according to his needs that may fluctuate over time. Therefore, DHEA administration is closer to “hormonal optimization” than “hormonal supplementation.” Unfortunately, extremely few studies are large and/or long enough to conclude on the effects of DHEA on aging and age-related diseases, even if positive effects of DHEA on muscle, bone, cardiovascular disease, and sexual function seem rather robust. The safety profile of long-term DHEA supplementation also needs to be better studied.
DHEA is a Pre-Hormone can be purchased OTC after an MD does labs on your DHEA, which is a very good idea and so so overlooked by pharma.. It does so much good and costs so little, not for pharma coffers, low cost supports...
This miracle was brought to my attention when I was 60's and I'm headed to 85. And I've been taking a low dose for 20 some yrs.
An FYI and think about it folks, the body doesn't magically become younger on it's own...

Caroline13 05-06-2023, 06:02 PM I added to this thread and it's not appearing, wonder why?
Ah, here it is, some kind of glitch.
Dude111 05-06-2023, 07:05 PM https://images.app.goo.gl/4JeL33thCkSk7DXC6Hmmmm I just tried that Jimmy and it says NOT FOUND.. Did they delete it?

I had never heard of DHEA. I'm not sure I'd take it as a supplement and I would never take Viagra. Notwithstanding I do take Siberian ginseng and ginkgo biloba. I've never been depressed, though I suppose as one ages there's always a first time. https://www.mountsinai.org/health-library/supplement/dehydroepiandrosterone#:~:text=DHEA%20levels%20peak%20at%20about,as%20an%20anti%2Daging%20treatment.

It's safe to say, MOST never heard of DHEA as Big Pharma keeps it quiet since it works and is inexpensive, otc and don't know if your health food stores carry it..but it's on line. I would not post anything that has not been tested and has good results, too many drugs have done me harm.
Ask your doctor to test your levels, which I know are lower, and the doc will give you a blank look.
Know that many ginsengs can elevate blood pressure. Look it up.
Caroline13 11-23-2023, 02:25 PM Seeing my grandgirl and daughter last night, they were talking about how good my skin looks at this late age and we got on the DHEA issue and I've been taking it for over 20 yrs and then a person on another group thanked me for this information this morning..
Maybe some here "MIGHT" open their mind to it. You won't hear this from your doctor, as they don't care but just keep pushing their drugs....as you get sick and decline in health.
Caroline13 04-13-2024, 03:37 PM Just got a note from the guy who helps me so much, he's 60, and periodically feels under the weather.....He does now and I reminded him of staying up with Grape Seed Ex and got a note from him just now that he just bought a new bottle and a new bottle of DHEA. Smart man and some need reminders...
Caroline13 04-13-2024, 03:53 PM https://www.pharmacist.com/Publications/Pharmacy-Today/Article/dhea-the-fountain-of-youth
DHEA The Fountain of Youth and MOST don't know about DHEA.. Too beneficial info to tell the masses.
And all should question any supplement they want to take IF they take pharma drugs for say: cancers and heart issues and others.
Caroline13 09-18-2024, 02:47 PM DO NOT IGNORE this possibly lifesaving support for our body. I was just talking to another group that suffer with many issues including FATIGUE....
Docs can test this DHEA in our bodies but MOST don't...they NEED us to be unwell...DHEA is OTC inexpensive miracle.. Be on top of your aging body...
