Hello all,

There are many songs over the decades with the word together in the title. For example, Love Will Keep Us Together-Captain & Tennille, Let's Stay Together-Al Green and then Tina Turner, Happy Together-The Turtles, Together Again-Janet Jackson, We Belong Together-Mariah Carey, etc.

What would be your favorite song with together in the title?

I have another of my list articles with info and trivia on several of these "together" related songs.

Let's Spend the Night Together by The Rolling Stones is a favorite of mine.

The Stones appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show performing the song is really something. As you can see in the video from the program, Mick Jagger and Bill Wyman, too, roll their eyes when it gets to the Let's Spend Some Time together part, instead of Let's Spend the Night Together. The movie of the group's 1981 tour, directed by Hal Ashby, was titled Let's Spend the Night Together.

I like that final scene in the Yellow Submarine movie where The Beatles appear on screen (not in animated form), which leads to All Together Now being played.

An excellent song that's included on the Now Music 4 UK album. I knew about the Electric Dreams movie when it was released, but have never seen it. Giorgio Moroder had another movie soundtrack song on the same compilation album, Never Ending Story sung by Limahl.

Country band Alabama also did a song of the same name back in 1985 for the Follow That Bird movie soundtrack.

I didn't know that Alabama also recorded a song called All Together Now. Follow That Bird sounds like a nice movie, with the Sesame Street characters sent on a cross country adventure to find Big Bird.

Of course in those days Ed Sullivan was hardcore about not offending TV censors with lyrical subject matter, and the Rolling Stones were the biggest bad boys of rock and roll then. But it was not surprising since Ed Sullivan was against even Buddy Holly singing "Oh Boy" due to its lyric, "All of my love, all of my kissin', you don't know what you've been missing." It got pretty ridiculous at that time.

And of course, Jim Morrison and The Doors were warned against singing the line "We couldn't get much higher" in their performance of "Light My Fire".

I really enjoyed Big Country in their early days as a band (I know I'm dating myself). I even bought a Big Country t-shirt (still have it) when I visited London for the first time in 1984. Their debut album, The Crossing, is excellent. The band's guitarists (Stuart Adamson and Bruce Watson) would often use the EBow electronic device on their electric guitars to create the bagpipe sound in great tracks like Fields of Fire and In A Big Country.

Kate Bush guested on two tracks of their third album, The Seer.
