If you're from New York you probably have heard of A&P Supermarkets and while they were the top supermarket of New York they were known for interesting commercials with different slogans that helped them survive. The first A&P commercials used the slogan "You'll do better at A&P" and are interesting then in 1982 the slogan became "We watch our P's and Q's" which in some versions of these commercials were accompanied by a supermarket scanner beep like Supermarket Sweep used in the show and talked about how the store improved. In 1990 the slogan "Take A Look At Us Now" was A&P's new 90's slogan and the commercials were better than ever. Although no longer in business today A&P Supermarkets serves as a role model for many of today's supermarkets right now

I think the last one in my area closed in the mid-1980s, if not earlier. The space was later converted into an Aldi store, and the building was still standing until 2020.
There were lots of A & P store brand products, some of which were under the "Ann Page " name.

A&P used the brand name Ann Page? I wonder if there was a real person named Ann Page that inspired the brand name? I was surprised at A&P's commercials and they were very creative and whatever ad agency they used really put effort into these commercials

Yes we had a Atlantic and Pacific store in our area.
I don't remember the commercial but we had an A&P Supermarket in our city in the 1960's & 1970's. But it closed down in the late 70's after they built Krogers and Winn Dixie. Plus we already had a Houchens on the west side of the city. I remember going to A&P with my mom when I was a kid, fun times for sure.
