Some one in the General sitcoms area posted a topic stating that some cable networks are now beginning to air shows from that 70's and later and stop airing shows from the 50's and 60's. Nick at Nite for instance is having great ratings better than they have ever had by showing shows from the 80's and 70's. Do you think I Love Lucy will be one of those shows that will run forever or be one of the shows cablers will never air again?

Oh, it'll run forever. It is considered one the of the greatest shows of all time and it still has a huge fan following 50 years after it's debut. In my area, it can be seen on regular television (albeit very early in the morning), so if that's still happening, cable will keep on showing it until the end of time.

Yeah it will run forever. It is one of the greatest TV shows ever made. My grandma once told me that she didn't think my kids would ever hear of I Love Lucy, but I know they will, even if I have to show them one of my tapes and force them. :)

Let's hope so, because most of the sitcoms of today are garbage. I think "I Love Lucy" is pretty timeless. If it can still have a big following in the year 2002, I think it will last. It still amazes me that there are people here on this board much younger than me who love the show. I think it's wonderful! I certainly hope my children and grandchildren, and their children and grandchildren, will watch "I Love Lucy" reruns. :D
