View Full Version : Guys, I need your help
mets82 02-14-2021, 12:11 AM Guys, I have something to ask you. I started a gofundme page regarding me staying in my house. Would you mind if you guys took a look at the gofundme page and donate if you would like? I would really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. I mention how hard it's been for me the past 3 years. And if you can't donate, spread the word.
So, would it be ok if I was to post the gofundme link on Sitcomsonline? I could really use your help. Please no negativity. If you can't donate, or don't want to, I will understand. Thank You

RetroGuy2000 02-14-2021, 03:25 PM Good luck, Mets! If I were in a better position myself, I could donate. But Covid.
mets82 02-14-2021, 03:42 PM Retro, thank you very much for responding. I appreciate it. I also understand with Covid and everything. Can you do me a favor? Can you spread the word and tell other people about my fundraiser so they can donate or at least spread the word?

biffbronson 02-17-2021, 06:17 AM We can help mets82 by keeping this thread on the front page, making it much more prominent and easier to locate.
mets don't forget that an area food bank may be able to help you with expenses, and also some utilities may offer bill amnesty -- especially in the winter months, when your electric and gas bill amounts will spike. Try not to let loneliness takeover your thoughts -- you're still a relatively young man, and you will be meeting more people in the future. I didn't meet some of my closest friends until after I hit 50...!
TVShowAddict 02-17-2021, 08:47 AM I am surprised moderators allowed gofund me here, it could be fake
I wish I could donate but I lost my job to covid

Since you have been able to manage after your mom died in 2017, until now, maybe one of these sites can help you better than a gofundme account.
Hopefully one of these sites can help you better with what your needs are at this time.
Millions of people are in the same boat as you, try not to despair, I know it's not easy..... GOD WILL OPEN A DOOR FOR YOU

I wish I could donate but I lost my job to covid
The reason is because most have been on here for a long time and have become like family.
biffbronson 02-17-2021, 01:28 PM He's a good guy, I like many others have never met him in person, but I've come to know him here and he's never been inconsistent regarding his plight -- and certainly he would not engage in anything that wasn't "above board."
Consider too that he's in a part of the country where the cost of living can be pretty high. My parents lived in the East Hartford area once, so I'm a little familiar. He's blogged with tips on money-saving (like groceries) in the past, so he's tried to be helpful to others as well.
Dude111 02-17-2021, 02:38 PM I am surprised moderators allowed gofund me here, it could be fakeWell METS is a known/trusted member here,I dont think its fake....
ponytail 02-18-2021, 06:21 AM I donated Mets. I'm praying for you also.
I'm sorry to hear about your struggles in recent years. You've been a good member of our community for many years.
Is there a deadline to donate? Are you able to receive the money before the goal is reached? I will try to help if/when they send another round of stimulus payments. Those $1,400 payments will help many folks who are struggling these days.
Stay strong and take it one day a time. Things will eventually get better.
Dude111 02-18-2021, 11:57 PM We love you Mets!!!
Thank you for your membership and kindness :)

I don't know if you have seen this, it was in one of the links I posted:
Connecticut provides a foreclosure mediation assistance program.
Connecticut has started a mandatory foreclosure mediation program. It is available to all homeowners, regardless of their income or the reason that they are behind on their mortgage. The Connecticut judicial branch offers mediation to homeowners who receive a foreclosure notice.
The homeowner will need to meet with the lender to try to determine if both parties can find an alternative to the foreclosure process. They will do this using the services of a independent third part specialist. Mediators staff the courthouses throughout Connecticut and they will meet with lenders and borrowers to try to work out a settlement to save the save. Here are some common questions and more information. (...)
you can find more inside this link:
https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html/connecticut_foreclosure_mediat.html
This site should be able to help with mediation
https://www.ctfairhousing.org/foreclosure-resources/
you can use the money from the go fund me and with mediation -- hopefully work something out.....GOOD LUCK and keep us posted.
mets82 02-26-2021, 09:08 PM Thank you for all the kind words. That really means a lot. :)I'm also sorry that I haven't been on the board. I meant to come on but I had other things going on. I actually have a law group that is trying to help me stay in the house. I will, though, definitely look at the mediation link that was posted by Foggy.
With that being said, you still have time to donate. The link to donate should be on the first page of this thread. Please, please donate if you can. Thank you.
mets82 03-02-2021, 04:31 PM Guys, I think I'm going to be shutting down the fundraiser. Nobody is donating and I'm nowhere near the goal that I wanted. I may leave the fundraiser up for a couple of days.
Dude111 03-05-2021, 11:46 PM Im so sorry Mets :(
ponytail 03-09-2021, 06:23 AM Sorry you are going through this. You have no family or someone you can move in with?
