If you like The Goldbergs then you should check out the forgotten series "Do Over" which came a decade before it. It's kind of a "Freaks and Geeks" but more comedy (like the Goldbergs). It stars Penn Badgley (currently on the Netflix series "You") as Joel Larsen a single, depressed paper salesman disappointed with how his life turned out in 2002. However, a shock from defibrillation paddles sends Joel back to 1981 as his 14-year-old self. He wakes up in his teenage body, but with all his adult memories from 2002 intact.

This is one of those quality shows where you ask "Why was it cancelled" (a la "freaks and geeks") but the logical reason is most likely "Do Over" was placed in a very competitive time slot against "Survivor" and "Scrubs".
