50 years ago today, February 10, 1971, Carole King was a budding solo artist who wrote in New York's famous Brill Building with her husband Gerry Goffin and wrote for many iconic artists in the 1950s and 1960s, including The Animals, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Aretha Franklin, and many others as well as having her songs covered by many great artists like James Taylor, The Beatles, Billy Joel, and more. Today marks the 50th anniversary of her iconic album that helped put her in the spotlight as a female singer-songwriter who was one of the very early ones who not only sang but wrote her own songs.

Yes, I love the tabby cat too! Its name (his name?) was Telemachus, a fun fact! ;) :) I've always loved Tapestry, and I remember my parents playing it in the car on the CD player in the car when I was little so I've been listening to Carole King's music as far as I can remember. Her music is timeless.

I saw that posted on her official Facebook page and I think that is an awesome accomplishment!

Tapestry was the first ever of my Carole King albums and I was in the no longer in business record store chain Wherehouse Music with my mom and we were searching for new music to buy when she saw my music selections and then my my mom went to the bargain bin and she pulled out a copy of Carole King's Tapestry and said why don't you listen to this" and I smiled and I bought it and as I listened to it I was amazed how Tapestry was and soon I bought more of Carole King's albums. My aunt also adores Tapestry too and had owned it on cassette and four CD copies and just loves it like I do
